A new light machine gun was developed in England in 1938.  The first letters of BRNO and Enfield were used to name the new weapon as the Bren.  This very efficient weapon saw service throughout World War II.  It is fitted with a folding bipod, could be used on a tripod on a monopod.  It is fitted with a curved, 30 round magazine of .303 inch British cartridge.  During the 1960's the Bren was converted to receive the 7.62 NATO round and is now called the L4A4.  This model served in Borneo and New Guinea confrontation.
